- A shipped spec is the record of what was agreed, not a rule the code must keep obeying. An agent that meets an older spec disagreeing with today's change now reads that as the system moving on, and says so instead of raising it as a defect. The spec directory your repository is seeded with says the same thing in plain words, so a person opening it meets the limit of a spec's authority beside its conventions.
